The Longhouse

Built as a ‘social polytunnel’ space for the Meanwood Valley Urban Farm CSA, Leeds. Comprising 5 bays the total structure is almost 15m long, with each timber bespokely scribed to one another - one timber has 5 scribed pole joins. The roundwood was sourced locally and the build took place over several weeks working alongside a large and diverse volunteer build team. The structure features retractable tarp roofs over 3 of the bays, so that covered space is available when needed, but a minimum of shade is cast when not required.
