Kirkcudbright Roundhouse

A 5m diameter roundhouse with a reciprocal roof with an inner ring cowl, scribed fitted timber floor, and green roof. The larch timber frame was sourced locally with great difficulty - Scotland is a land of big tree forestry - built onsite with a volunteer build camp over 2 weeks. Great thanks to a really wonderful team - Kale/Billy, Rachel, Jamie, Louise, Kirsty, and Jane.

Roof boards supported by purlins rather than secondary rafters, with purlins of increasing thickness towards the edge of the roof. This helped create a lower overall roof
